Samsung came out with guidance on future earnings, they have many products, it¡¯s been a tough quarter. Apple isn¡¯t alone. Technology giant Samsung Electronics says it is likely to see its profits for the last three months of 2023 fall by more than a third. The decline is much worse than analysts expected and comes as global demand for consumer electronics remains weak. South Korea-based Samsung is the world's largest maker of memory chips, smartphones and televisions. John

Happy New Year fellow Apple aficionados. This morning I am working on my M2 MacBook pro. On my desk I also have a older iPad pro. I was watching a video on the iPad and typing an email on the Macbook Pro when out of the blue I lost my cursor on the MacBook. I glanced at my iPad and the cursor was there. I don¡¯t know how that happened. I also didn¡¯t know how to get the cursor back to the MacBook so I shut both devices down and restarted the MacBook and then restarted the iPad. Has anyone experienced this? While I am at it, is there a way to connect the iPad to the MacBook and use the iPad as a second screen? TIA Harry

MacBook Pro and an external ssd drive

Hello all, I have a recent Macbook Pro. I back up with time machine to an external ssd drive. I never shut the computer down and often, when I wake the computer up, I get a message that my external drive was improperly ejected even though I hadn¡¯t removed the drive from the computer and the drive shows up on the desktop. Anyone know what¡¯s going on. Happy holidays to all. Harry

I am reading ¡°The Broker¡± a 2005 novel by John Grisham with this description of a top of the line cell phone.

For a film my son is making he ask AI to draw a photo that matched the criteria he gave it, this is what it produced instantly. Look at the setting, look at the characters, the shading, the depth of field ! This is unbelievable. He then ask for a barn, evening shade, next to a woods. I don¡¯t have it but it was better than an artist or a photo, even if you could find the setting.

Johnathan, It¡¯s great to see Apple cross the fence again, what bothers me is the interest in Microsoft. Cloud services and now AI is a torch igniting the stock. Apple had focused on Augmented Reality & now I read they are concentrating on catching up with AI. Let¡¯s hope, Apple always does it right. You can see from the market Cap they are very close, also note the volume in Apple is more than twice that of Microsoft. John

AAPL does it again
Apple stock closed at a value that placed its market capitalization above $3 Trillion today. Apple is the only company to ever do that, and (by my count) this is the 4th time they have done it. No one would fault you for taking some profit on your Apple shares now.
