Happy New Year fellow Apple aficionados. This morning I am working on my M2 MacBook pro. On my desk I also have a older iPad pro. I was watching a video on the iPad and typing an email on the Macbook Pro when out of the blue I lost my cursor on the MacBook. I glanced at my iPad and the cursor was there. I don’t know how that happened. I also didn’t know how to get the cursor back to the MacBook so I shut both devices down and restarted the MacBook and then restarted the iPad. Has anyone experienced this? While I am at it, is there a way to connect the iPad to the MacBook and use the iPad as a second screen? TIA Harry

Hello all, I have a recent Macbook Pro. I back up with time machine to an external ssd drive. I never shut the computer down and often, when I wake the computer up, I get a message that my external drive was improperly ejected even though I hadn’t removed the drive from the computer and the drive shows up on the desktop. Anyone know what’s going on. Happy holidays to all. Harry

In the most recent vernacular, - Pre-Covid19 - and well before that in fact there was quite an active Apple Users Group here in Louisville. As more things moved online and many initial users aged out the group dissipated. I did arrange a couple of meetings at the old Simply MAC Store. Just never could get it to come back full force. I am not one to give up tho and I believe we can have an active Apple Users Group NOT just online whether with this mail group or Facebook. So in that belief I have started a group on Facebook - Louisville Apple Users Group, as a way to pull together people in the Apple ecosphere to get an offline group going. So please take a few minutes if you have Facebook and go join the group. Once we get a number of people online from the area, we can work on perhaps having an offline meetup someplace here in town after the new year. I know this is a Mac list. But… Surely there are folk on here that use iOS 17 and/or iPadOS 17. I can’t find a mailing list for that iteration of iOS for information sharing like this one for Mac OS - Locally. Is there any interest in having an old time face to face meetup to chat about Apple, Macs, iOS etc? Exchange some tips and ideas, uses and abuses that we find helpful.
