Zoom Breakout Rooms Update
开云体育Andrew,
That certainly sounds a useful new feature. Very welcome. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

The latest release of Zoom (5.9.3) now allows Breakout Rooms to be created, removed, renamed after launch. Which should be a useful feature. ? Best wishes, Andrew. ? Andrew Aus Mensa East Anglia Regional Officer ? ? |
开云体育Upon further investigation I have discovered that Zoom needs to enable the Breakout Room In-Flight Modification functionality centrally before it can be used. ? I don’t know why such functionality is so restricted, it seems obvious to me that it should be available to all. Perhaps Zoom will release it for account holders to control themselves in the future, but for now we have to go through our Zoom account managers. Seems like a lot of hassle just for that! ? ? I'm puzzled - I have always started a meeting before setting up the breakout rooms and then giving them the desired names. It has worked whether other participants have already joined the meeting or not.? Perhaps the new functionality is for people on a free account...? John?

开云体育The new functionality is for AFTER Breakout Rooms are OPENED, you can still rename, create and remove Breakout Rooms, without having to close the other ones in use. Currently you have to close all breakout rooms and set them all up again to do that. ? Best wishes, Andrew. ? ?
