Locked SMA Coax Extension Cable For YouLoop ?
Hello, Have just received my YouLoop loop antenna. It looks like I will need a coax extension of about ?35 feet to hook it up from where I have space for it to my receiver ?(SDRPlay RSPdx)???? Think it’s too long a distance ? ?Implications ??(for <30 MHz am listening) Looks like I require a SMA M on one end and a SMA F on the other. Amazed at the prices for these extension cables on Amazon, so I imagine, as usual, What kind of coax, etc. should I limit my search to ? They had one, but a Poster said it was "micro" cable so avoid".??? If someone might pick something out that isn't too expensive (perhaps < $ 20) for 35 feet or so, would be most appreciative. Or, what should I be looking for, and, more important probably, what should I avoid ? Much thanks,?????Bob ? ? |
Hi Quick Answer? In the Web articles, it is the claim that the single best effective Mod is to use the best quality low noise Coax.? I would add to use Ferrite Common Mode Chokes.? I will try to find the article Also, try? Files in the io group MLA-30? ? Thanx 73 de Jordan ve7jjd On Wed, May 13, 2020 at 5:30 AM rmrrgs <rgsrose@...> wrote:

Hi?? ?? MLA 30 Review Video ?? My conclusion: You get a lot of performance for a little money. The MLA-30 works very well on the lower bands and in some cases is better than the 80M EFHW but it lacks on the higher bands. IMO, it makes a good receive only antenna if you are interested in the lower bands and a usable solution for the higher bands if you don't have space for a long length of wire in the air. The addition of a rotator would make this a great antenna for LW DX work.? ------------------------------------- MLA 30 Compendium ? ? ?
