Locked Lessons Learned - TV 'type' Coax Cable [Shielded] SWL Loop Antennas {RHF}
MK & TELAMON, My reason for stating that the performance was 'poor' had to do with many small problems: * Learning Curve - It was my first Coax Cable [Shielded] Loop Antenna. * Questionable

I got the copper sheet metal at a local sheet metal shop. It was 4 3/4 inches wide by 8 feet long and I used 5 feet of it for my capacitor. I gave $6 for it. It was in a rack with other bits and

Thank you for the reply. I perhaps should have explained that this antenna would be the first tool used to get started on the hunt for the source of the noise. It would head me in the

I just took a moment to look at your great work on this butterfly capacitor. I'm curious if you could give an estimate on what your materials cost were. I'm trying to determine if this is the route

You do not want to use a Magloop to try and DF power line noise, it won't work! A Magnetic loop is immune to power line generated noise. You can't DF power line noise at all. When you have a high

BJ, It is my understanding that the Coax Cable Lead-in-Line can not be to long. If as you say, you used good construction techniques and Weather Proofed everything then it should work OK

My plan is to build a loop antenna to use at a fixed location to get a DF fix on local power line noise sources. As a secondary benefit, I would use it as an alternative receiving antenna in the
