Recent w1hkj site changes, and Flrig sources.

开云体育

Hi.

After a bit of a hiatus with the computer here..? (I lost the ability to use a GUI desktop, as a "non-root user"!)

Anyway.?? I'm re-establishing things so I can once again work on Flrig and tweak a few things for my TS-870s, and continue to add a back-end for the IC-R9000. ? (At least my backup strategy worked!)

I had been working with the Flrig alpha, 2.0.05.75, and was in the process of migrating my work to 2.0.05.85 when I had the computer issues in late November 2024.? ? (long story to whoever wants it!? I still don't know what happened, or why, but I only recently got it flying straight and level again.)

Anyway.? I read that Dave (HKJ) migrated his website from a .com to a .org? And indeed, if you go to the .com site, there is a big message to go to the .org?? Not a problem.? But...?? Where are the up-to-date / latest sources for Flrig?

(I was wanting to check for later alpha release for Flrig, later than 2.0.05.85 that I have.)

The new site lists a release of 2.0.04, but there was a 2.0.05 released, and later alphas present after that.

The new site seems not to have any Flrig sources at?? ?? other than:-?? 1.3.22.14? !

What happened to the 2.0.05 release, and later alpha's ?

However, The links on Dave's .org site to sourceforge work, where at least the Flrig release v2.0.05 is present!

Anyway, "Confused of North Bucks UK" is now off to watch some mindless drivel on TV, as I've frazzled the faded grey cell a bit too much today.

Hi Dave

I would assume the migration isn't complete yet and have also seen the very old alpha versions on the org site, but the old site contents by direct URL are still there. eg;

Currently at 2.0.05.93 - still available.

I don't have a URL for archived alphas sorry. (like where to find 2.0.05.85)

I think the only "new" alpha on the org site is fldigi 4.2.06.24

Thanks Brian.

If someone can confirm that? flrig-2.0.05.95.tar.gz? is the latest alpha, I'll grab it and work with that.

Just odd that the site migration didn't go exactly to plan, but that too might not be too much of a surprise to some.

It's the latest I've seen, but actually it's 93 not 95.

Dated January 6th in the Changelog

As I suggested, the mice may have been at it.

Hi Brian.

I grabbed 2.0.05.93, and have been working with that.

For now, getting back up-to speed, while re-creating work I did to improve a couple of minor annoyances I had with the implementation for the TS-870s.? That is done, and I'll happily put the changes somewhere suitable if needed.?? Perhaps even .dif files, if I can create them correctly!

But where to? ? Dave closed (or it was closed for him) his belsouth contact email, and often stuff I've recently posted to the linuxham list has mysteriously disappeared.? (Not even shown in the group message list on the groups.io website.)

I've also had too many seriously bad experiences with "git" and so on so would prefer not to attempt that.? (Those systems suffer from the "no way back" after a false finger moment syndrome!)

All the best Brian.

??? Dave G0WBX.

Dave,

All of the alpha software is posted in exactly the same relative locations as on the previous .com web site.

Drill down on the desired application folder.? The most recent distribution is similarly posted:

I do occasionally post to of <CALLSIGN>/ if I am being assisted by a specific user to track down a bug.

flrig in the alpha directory is at version 1.3.23.14 David, so
something has picked up an old version.

Hi.

Well, as one other list member in the UK also reported the same issue with the new site flrig alpha folder.

I dug into things a bit more.

I checked again this (UK)AM and still saw the old version alpha.

This is after googling for w1hkj, and going to the .org link.? At about 11:00z today.? Perhaps there are server logs that might show up something.

At one point, using a VPN with it's distant endpoint in the USA (Alanta) I DID see the correct up-to-date site.

But that didn't last long.?? 5 minutes later, were stuck on the out-of-date site again, even while still using the VPN.

Using an utterly different device and browser (an android phone, on cellular data) also shows the wrong files.? Even after a full power off and cold reboot.

So, that's two different routes to the same wrong source.? Maybe GCHQ doesnt want us to be "up to date" with open source ham software?

Or, something in the internet caching distribution network seems to have stalled somewhere.? So it's a bit "pot luck" what you get to!

OK.? Did another update to that folder:

Index of /alpha/flrig
