[OT] Re: MS apps under Ubuntu WINE
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýRe Zoom. A group of 4 of us here use it regularly, they on Windows or various phones, me generally on Linux (LMDE 6 now) and no issues at all (other than me forgetting just what controls the audio/camera interface selection!) In the past we've had as many as a 15 participants using a
variety of computers tablets and phones, and all works very
well.?? (Even when many of us were also playing Uno online at the
same time, and thrashing the automatic Bot's into touch!) I have a 100Mb LAN (Wired, not WiFi) and a 33/10Mb VDSL broadband service. No issues with lag, stuttering or whatever. DM is often independently streaming something at the same time too, to her phone or TV. You may not find direct Linux equivalent tools to what you have had on Windows, but there are usually many choices of similar tools that can do the same job, it's just time to find and evaluate them. Libre Office is genuinely good, and very compatible with MS Office in most things.? Just make sure you get as late a release as you can.? Many distro's bundle it, but not always the latest proven release. If Ubuntu doesn't cut it for you, look at Linux Mint.? More or less specifically created to make the transition from Windows relatively easy. All the best. Dave G0WBX.? Who finally moved to Linux full time, after the great Windows 10 "Push Download" that bricked my then Win7 machine! I have not regretted moving at all.
