Having a difficult time finding a logging program that works on Ubuntu 24.04.
CQRLOG has problems with MySQL.? Same with XLOG.
KLOG will not interface with LOTW either directly or through ADIF file - TQSL gives errors on KLOG generated ADIF file.
Anyone had success with a decent logging program on Ubuntu 24.04?

Hello Bill
?
There is also QLOG
There are PPA repositories in order to install and get future updates.
It look like it is an active project.
?
I tried running it on a Linux Mint 22 machine. This is based on Ubuntu 24.04, so it may be suitable for you.
?
Unfortunately, my Linux PC is not my main machine for amateur radio use, so maybe there are issues that I have not faced during the simple testing I have done.
I have not used QLOG for everyday use, so my experience was just: install it, run it and import the log.

开云体育Having had CQRLOG running as my log of choice for a long time and on many distros -including Ubuntoids, I can't help wondering if something has been overlooked? CQRLOG, at least here, seems not robust with MySQL, but the CQRLOG website does point out that one should install MariaDB -a drop-in replacement for MySQL first, and the install CQRLOG. IMHO, CQRLOG is so much better than QLOG, but there are alternatives ... 73, KX4QC On 1/17/25 22:14, Bill, K4AJ via

Similar to KX4QC, I have also had success with CQRLOG on Mint 22 which is very similar to Ubuntu.?
?
I do not believe CQRLOG is under active development by the original authors any longer.? However, an "Alpha" version is being actively developed and maintained by Saku OH1KH and details can be found at:
?
?
Questions on the CQRLOG Forum ( ?? ) are generally answered by someone within a day or two including install and configuration related questions for version 2.5.2 which is the latest official release from quite a while back now.
?
I have tried several of the Linux logging programs and CQRLOG fits me.? It is more than some folks want or need though and perhaps Qlog is a decent alternative.? QLOG does apprear to be under active development and has some nice features.? Unfortunately, there are not a lot of Linux logging programs out there and fewer that appear to be in active development.

开云体育Just started - literally today - playing with Qlog. ADIF import went without a problem and rig control via hamlib, after decreasing the polling interval, works like a charm. I quite like the interface but I'm just trying work out if/how I can change the DX cluster from hamqth. Unlike you I'm using LM22 and installed the Qlog flatpak (which also installed TQSL), but I do know that Ubuntu can be configured to support flatpak pkg's. For example, see If you
don't want to use flatpak I know Qlog authors publish a PPA
which you can use to install using a deb pkg. Unlike CQRlog, Qlog uses SQLlite as a DB engine so there's no need to install MariaDB. Anyway just my two pennies worth and something that might be worth considering. As I said I've just started playing with Qlog so my current view of this logging app may change the more I use it. 73 Mark

CQRlog: Uninstalled MYsql and installed MariaDB.? CQRlog still opens with error concerning connection to MYsql!? I'm giving up on CQRlog.
Qlog shows some promise, but I can't get it to connect to my rig.? I setup a rig profile with parameters that work with other software (e.g.WSJT-X), but no luck.
Might just keep my log on a spreadsheet then figure out how to transfer data to TQSL.? Any ideas? |
