AT-1000Pro2 problem

 

Had a nasty experience with my LDG auto tuner. It¡¯s been working fine for 2 years. Recently my amp has complained a few times about high SWR on 30m after tuning. It tunes ok, but after 10 seconds of tx at 150w the SWR shoots up. I thought it was bad connections and checked everything between shack and antennas. Today the shack smelt bad (burnt electronics!). The culprit is in the attached photo! C5B on the LDG¡­

Glad my amp protected itself!

How much power as the limit on 30 meters is 200 watt as I understand it.
But my question is what kind of antenna??
I have seen this often with End Fed Half Wave antennas as the toriod heats up and then the SWR goes up and possibly out of range of the tuner or the power level inhibits retuning.
I have seen this often enough, especially on FT-8 that I can't recommend them for FT-8.
 

If I change C5A thru C5E are there any other components that you guys would recommend changing based on experience?

Had the same happen to me a few years back, My fault op error, Ldg sent me 2 new ones free of charge to Sweden, still have one spare, very good customer service, Think the guy i delt with a was Dwayne, something like that anyway.

Not sure quite what happened with mine. It worked fine on all bands except 30m, where it tuned ok with 10w but became unstable with higher power¡­

I¡¯ll contact LDG tomorrow, but I¡¯ve already sourced the new caps so I¡¯ll probably just sort it myself ?
