Y-ACC-2 and Y-ACC-3 Cables Available

Folks, just got a shipment of Y-ACC-2 and Y-ACC-3 cables in our HRO stores. I know a lot of people have been waiting for LDG to start producing them.

Thank you,
Gregg

Gregg,

I'll take one for my Yaesu FT-450D.

I found the cable to be rather pointless on my FTDX-10. It does not lower the power on the radio when tuning.

Hello Elden,

I am getting mine today for a FTDX-101D.? I will be pretty upset if my cable does not lower power upon tuning with this Y-ACC-3 cable.? I will then see how well HRO handles returns.
Thanks for the heads up.

According to the LDG website for the YACC3 for the ?FXDX101and DX3000:

Supported Radios:
FT-dx101, FT-dx3000

Functionality:

Pressing the tune button on the tuner changes the mode of the radio to CW (mode change does not appear on some radio display), tunes, then returns the radio to the previous mode. The RF power is lowered while the tuner is tuning. There is no need to change RF power settings before or after tuning.

For the YACC2

Y-ACC-2 is a 36″ cable interface between the select Yaesu radios and LDG 100 watt tuners. Does not supply DC to tuner. Connects between the Linear port on the radio and the Radio Interface on the LDG tuner.

Supported Radios:
FTdx10, FTdx1200

Functionality:

Pressing the tune button on the tuner changes the mode of the radio to CW (mode change does not appear on some radio display), tunes, then returns the radio to the previous mode. The RF power is lowered while the tuner is tuning. There is no need to change RF power settings before or after tuning.

If they do not do what they say, please post a new message here so the LDG team can see it.?

I have tried the YT-PAC-1200 cable with my AT-200ProII and my FTDX-10. The YT-PAC-1200 cable is the same pinout as the Y-ACC-2. It certainly did not seem to lower the power.

I put a power meter inline. I hit the tune button on the tuner and the process started out at 100 watts. It also ended at 100 watts. My belief is… the only reason the power level jumped around in the middle of the tuning process is because of the protection logic in the FTDX-10 that lowers the power due to high SWR. Had the tuner actually lowered the power… I should not have seen 100 watts on my meter at the beginning of the tuning process.

Gregg. My bad. After reading your message a bit closer… I see you said that the Y-ACC-2 only works with 100 watt LDG tuners. I guess I’m out of luck with my AT-200ProII.?

Does anyone produce an interface cable for the LDG tuners and Yaesu FTDX10 that connect to the tuner port on the FTDX10 instead of to the Linear port?

I need to use the Linear port for a PTT cable from my antenna switch.

Hi Nate,

There used to be a company called BetterRF in NM that had a Tune Control cable that worked like that. From the review site, it looks like they have been out of production for about 10 years. You may be able to pickup a used one.
