AT-1000ProII Stopped Working?

Hi, Everyone,

Just got my LDG AT-1000ProII last week and after a no hassle hookup to my IC-7300, it matched everywhere I went, using a 200 feet long wire with a 9:1 UNUN..? Yay!

A few days ago, I tried to check into our local 75M Morning Net and it was as if I had not pressed the mic. button. I discovered that there was Infinity SWR presented to the 7300 back from the AT-1000.

I connected the 7300 up to my AH-4 with a 23 foot long wore, as recommended by ICOM and all is well.

Has anyone had this problem?? If so, how did you cure it?

Bob,

?

You are missing basic fault finding.

?

You eliminated the possible cause of the fault (the 200 foot long wire with 9:1 unun)

?

Connect the AH-4 to the 200 ft long wire with 9:1 and test that.

?

If you are using the 1000, I presume you are using High power, unless you paid ?$100 or more for the balun? I would suspect that the balun is only rated for about 300 watts.

?

If you have an antenna (dipole etc) you can connect to the 1000 test that. If you have a dummy load connect that and try it.

?

Let us know how you go.

?

Cheers

Thanks for the reply, Neil.

I've been recovering from surgery and hadn't felt up to reconnecting things, but your suggestions are "on my list".? Hi.

Actually, I'm only using 100 Watts from the radio.? The UNUN is a home brew unit that's getting around to 3 years of age.? As soon as I'm up to it, I will replace that.

Thanks for the reply.? I was beginning to think that this was another non-functional website.

Hi,

I have owned several LDG tuners (still do) and have had a couple of them act like they were locked up - not able to get out of Bypass, or will not tune while holding the Tune button down with a long press. Try pressing either the one of the C UP/C DN or L UP/L DN buttons to see if that will get the tuner operating.

Thanks, Mike,

I'll give those actions a try.

Hi, Mike,? I felt well enough to come down here to the shack and re-connected the tuner, set the power back to around 15W and tried the "Long Press" of the "Tune", "L Up" and a few other buttons and things seem to be back to normal.

Thanks for the tip.? Sometimes, things get "stopped up" and need cleaned out.
