I agree.? I use wire antennas extensively when portable.? Some nights when it is windy, the tuner will want to re-match the wire as the wind blows it in and out of tree limbs etc.? The ability to ¡°Lock-In¡± a good tune to keep the tuner from trying to make it better helps.? Invariably, when the tuner attempts a retune, it always gets worse before it gets better.

?

This photo was last week.? It was 110-ft of wire, 40-ft vertical and the rest sloping down to a fence-line off to the right.? Operated on every band except 160m.

An EXIT is really an ENTRANCE to someplace new.?

It isn¡¯t an ADVENTURE until something goes wrong!

Jon :?

The power push-button on RC-100 bias-the/control box is an on/off button.
?
As the RT-100 uses latching relays, the ability to turn off power to the tuner effectively provides a "lock" function for the tuning.?
Sometimes I find that the tuner wants to re-tune on me while transmitting, so being able to get a good tune on a band and lock it to prevent retuning by removing the power?
is a useful feature.
