ROLE

The Chief Accounting Officer will oversee all accounting functions for a complex, multi-disciplinary commercial real estate firm with a diverse portfolio of assets, business lines, and investors. This role demands deep expertise in joint venture (JV) structures, tax planning and strategy, partnership accounting, and consolidated financial reporting within intricate real estate environments.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with a proven ability to thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. This individual must embrace a high level of accountability while operating in a firm with minimal corporate bureaucracy or hierarchy.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Advanced degree preferred.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance in the commercial real estate industry, currently holding or having recently held the position of CFO or CAO.
• An extensive background in all aspects of commercial real estate accounting including partnership, corporate, property management, and development accounting. ?
• Must be well steeped in the traditional partnership accounting of commercial real estate while also capable of transitioning to a consolidated model.
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software including: (Yardi, MRI, etc).?
