Keep in mind ...
Gents, keep in mind that it's the referee that actually control your units, according to your instructions. Usually, your ships, subs and aircraft do what theyr are told to do. However, they sometimes act differently. The reasons can be : - Badly worded
orders so the unit misunderstands what you meant. - Communication issues (due to bad organization, inexperience, jamming , etc.) : message can be delayed or lost. - The unit makes a mistake, does not understand orders (ie : ordered to engage a target not detected) or has to adapt orders to the local circumstances. - Sometimes the referee makes a mistake, due to its poor old brain or poorrly worded orders. Of course, the chances that a problem occurs depend on how far you are from the unit, and how clear your orders are. There will be few problems if you are aborad a ships, butprobably more when you want to control jet aircraft far away from you, with less than perfect communications. So, understand that your units do not always act as ordered. Francis |
just to make sure .. does this mean that we should not try to update the excel sheet with the unit movements?

You can update the Excel sheet. It's a good tool to have your movement orders clear and to plan it. However, the referee is free to overwrite it if necessary.
