Lagoon 410 solar panel wire install

I have a 2005 410 S2 owners version, with a hard .
I am going to add to the and am looking for advice on running the wires to the batteries below.
I hope to run the wires from the through the stainless pole support for the bimini, on the aft port side, so it would enter the aft port stateroom just about where the outside access (to pull the engine) would be.
I'm looking for advice from any 410, or similar owners who have run the wires to your house bank, on the port side.
Thanks

I have a 420 with 3x280w panels. I installed a 60A Morningstar MPPT in the Starboard engine room and then ran a 12v +ve line to the batteries, earthing the MPPT to the alternator ground With hind sight I would recommend running the panels higher voltage lines to near the batteries and mount the MPPT there. Despite their claims in the manual the battery voltage sense does not compensate for the voltage loss in the negative (ground) return wire to the MPPT. I ran a second large earth wire to compensate for the loss. System works well but would have been easier to run the two smaller wires from the panels to the house batteries rather than half way!

I also have just installed 3 x 315 watt panels to a new stainless support above the Davits, at the same level as the "Soft" Bimini. ?They are Panasonic panels (945 watts total )running at high voltage with a MPPT SOLAR REGULATOR "Midnite" brand ( USA made) eBay to Australia.

The output runs down the left hand front support into the Port Engine Room then through the bulkhead to above the House batteries. Note that the input current can be switched completely by running through high current Circut Breakers, this was recommended as this will allowed ?the "System Reset" to be completed very easily should the modern MPPT GET CONFUSED at any point.

PEAK Output from 36 - 38 volts is (proposed at) ?45- 60amps peak ( I'm told, as the batteries have been fully charged since installing 2 months ago and an extended sail to come.

Professional install, as I wanted to get the best performance ?from the Panels / MPPT , ex radio technician but that was 40 years ago, so didn't back myself.

Photos if required.

Check your access for drilling a hole?through the stainless pole supports. ?Its not an easy place to setup and drill where you need leverage to penetrate the metal. ?Consider hiring that job out. ?I tried on our 450 and gave it a miss. ?We went with another method that would be different on your 410.?

Hi darby695,

i am the new owner of a 410 and would like to install solar panels, would it be possible for you to send me pictures of your 3 panel installation and their specs, are you happy with them?
i also have a soft bimini so i am not considering that area to install them.

thanks for your reply
