Lagoon 410 Repower (Engine removal)

Hi Lagoon owners,

Does anyone have experience removing an engine on a L410? I specifically am interested in if the engine will clear the middle wooden longitudinal bed support (on the SB side it is towards the middle of the boat). My mechanic thinks it needs to be removed, but that looks like a royal pain and it looks to me like the engine will lift up as is.

I have removed the deck lid above the engine, that was a bit of a pain too, but doable.

Any other wise words on this endeavor?

Best Regards Jess.

?

We had a 1999 L410, and had the SB engine removed for rebuild. That was a Yanmar 3GM30.
We had no problem lifting it out once the deck panel (and some support structure for the liners) was removed.?

But maybe the S2 has a different bed setup and a different support structure. Please find attached a shot of the bed with engine removed. If yours looks the same it should work.

Thanks for the quick answer. It looks like we have plenty of room to work with. At first I couldn't make heads and tails of your picture, then I realized we have shaft drive and you have sail drive so everything in the engine compartment is reversed fore and aft. Thanks again for the info and picture.

wow, you have a shaft version? I read about it but have never seen one, keep her!
