Re: [LagoonOwners] Catamaran Guru Rendezvous For ALL Cat Owners
Rob, feel free to remove the post or if I have to, I'd be happy to. This is not advertising for anything. We are doing a rendezvous for all and any catamaran owners. We are NOT trying to sell anything to any one. This is simply meant to be a fun event for people with a common interest. We are sponsoring the event and a lot of the costs will be covered but as much as I'd like to, I am not independently wealthy and cannot provide everything for free.?

they are boat brokers with a different flair, but bottom line they want to make money. Nothing wrong with that so long as they are up front about it.?

Re: [LagoonOwners] Antenna Cable in mast
How much cable did you pull out the bottom of the mast before it got stuck? That will give you an idea how far down the end is stuck. It likely be stuck at the entrance to the cable tube however far that is from the top, maybe not too far. You can take the top cap of the mast off although I have never done it to get to the top of the tube. Pull messenger lines for the halyards that exit the masthead to reduce their weight. then just the weight of instrument cables. Maybe this is not a good idea or won't work for some other reason. Maybe it is time to put up a second vhf antenna on the aft end of your boat somewhere until the next time you haul out and can drop a new messenger and cable when your mast is not moving around. joe Sea Of Love L440 BVI .

Re: [LagoonOwners] Antenna Cable in mast
开云体育My guess is that the small line is a messenger left in there to fish new wire? I would try to walk it back and forth to free it. Probably jammed by the vhf wire! Don't forget to pull another messenger with the new wire so it's easy for the next time! The wires run in a tube (conduit) inside the mast. It can get right in there if you have a lot going on up there. I haven't done it but I imagine that you could get away with running a vhf cable outside the conduit. I've always used a small line with a large fishing weight on the end to get a messenger in the mast for halyards. I would think it would work for running coax too.. Good luck! Antenna Cable in mast
Hello all, I've got a rather frustrating and a bit dumb question to put to you all.... few days ago went up the mast of my Lagoon 440 to fix the VHF antenna that became a little loose. While up I had the "brilliant idea" to check the antenna connector to the antenna.? ?Proceeded in taking? the male connector to the Antenna off the cable. Well because of a sudden move of the Cat the cable slipped off my hands and pulled itself inside the Mast....bugger!!! From the bottom of the mast I tried to pull the cable out but got stuck and then broke and now does not seem to shift. I think while it came down it must have tangled itself on the others... There is a very thin line that runs from the top of the mast to the bottom. That? is also stuck...and I am afraid it will brake if I pull any harder. There are no inspection holes along the sparcraft mast as far as I can see. I'm stuck...any suggestions much appreciated.. ... |
Re: SD50 problem
Hi
Sounds like you are experiencing "slipping cone clutch" problem, a well known issue, caused by wear of the top/bottom disc. and consequence is "glaced" cone. The fix is simple, and can be done in the water. You need to remove the clone clutch assembly, and install a new/improved upper/lower disc with specially machined needle bearing kit. And you need to lap the cone. Look online for "Gideon" and "cone cluch". I have a brand new set of bearings etc, the complete rework kit purchased from Gideon, with instructions and drawings. You can buy it off me, as I have sold my L410. Just PM if interested. BR Niels |
