We have been anchored in Lamu Kenya for 2 months. Now preparing to get moving and i noticed my B&G 508 wind Transducer is not spinning. There has been a lot of sand and dust in the air from the sand dunes. Has anyone ever removed cleaned and serviced??

Not sure about those widespread warnings.? I can't find the story any more, but West Systems did a paper on using gelcoat over epoxy, and found it to adhere well.? Or read this Jamestown Supply article:? or this article in EpoxyWorks:?


The general issue is that polyester doesn't stick "well" to epoxy.? However, gel coat isn't structural.? If it sticks twice as well as paint, it's great stuff.? You may not want to use it to bond a cleat to your deck, but it's plenty strong enough to look pretty for a few decades.

Having arrived in Australia and now running low on gas, I find that the gas bottles cannot be filled and that the Australia gas regulators and hose do not fit the in-boat connection. Has anyone solved this problem.?

It can be frustrating, but try the shower float switch. You can try putting food die in the tank to help see where it’s coming from.

GIBCO in Fort Worth Texas have this?Pattern GFBTS 322 (Female with PVA) which matches Lagoon deck pattern. Sold by the foot. I just cut it up into small pieces to repair small areas. They have a a how to video as well. I used a 150mm wide art/craft roller to squeeze out excess gel coat.?

For gel coat, Lagoon dealers sell gel coat by the can - saves trying to colour match.?

Usually you would need to widen the cracks to get a good traction on the surcafe, clean and fill back with a little bit excess, sand and wax. There is a bunch of explicit video online on this topic with very good tips.

Check the shower in rear. Mine leaked into this area from engine compartment. The fitting was loose at the mixer valve. If it’s this you’ll see water in engine bilge. Also check freezer drain?

Hi all,

ive got a freshwater leak into the stbd bilge it comes from the freshwater system (not rain!!). The leak fills the keel bilge void in approx 3 days and is getting worse.?

I have looked everywhere where I can see but there do seem to be a number of areas that I can’t quite see. There also seems to be freshwater under the fuel tank and I’m mystified how water gets there !!!!

Any top tip, ideas, advice .... greatly received.?

I have some dings in the non-skid of my 2011 L400. I read everywhere that patches should be made with epoxy. I can make a mold for the non-skid, but polyester gel coat should not be used over epoxy.
What material should be used to finish and match the existing gel coat?

Has anyone figured out how this is attached and how to remove it?

Hi, I have a 2018 450S #94, and I would love to have an electronic copy as well. I converted or downloaded every manual I could find. Lagoon manuals were too big to scan.

Looking fro plan B if autopilot fails. Installing second AP seem cleanest solution but, it is expensive and if current AP works another 10 years, second AP will be close to expired in 10 years as well. So then need another AP. And if electricity fails, thats no good.?

Have seen videos of sheet to tiller AP and also sheet to wheel AP.?

Anyone had any success with implementing??sheet to wheel AP on Lagoon cat ?

My current view is that should be doable.

Beauty of that approach is it non electric, installed only when required and also very cheap. Downside is - may be difficult set in some conditions....
