Re: L400 rot in forward anchor locker

Nate Niehuus

I had this with a 380.? Just use marine ply, cut to size and epoxy over it (or use a two-part epoxy paint of your choice). The cut can be a little trick with the curves, but it's a relatively cheap and simple fix (in boat dollars).?

Re: #alternator #alarm on #alternator #alarm #lagoon400

Hello.
There some smal 10A Fuse under the bed. in the back cabin. The smal Alternator wire and also the Engine Fan goes over this fuse. Disconect the van before you change the fuse. Mostly the van are burned and because this the fuse brakes. After change fuse you can conect the van to check this out.
Good luck and best greetings

Re: #alternator #alarm on #alternator #alarm #lagoon400

On L400 the fuse is inside the service batteries compartment. It usually fuses due to a faulty relay that is close to it, or due to a faulty port engine blower. Check the relay first.?

On a 400S2, do you know where a fuse or relay for the starboard battery isolator is?

Our starboard alternator alarm is on. The alternator is not working because it is not getting power from the battery isolator. The battery isolator is controlled by a purple 12g wire which should get power when the engine is turned on but does not. If I jump power to the battery isolator it turns on, its green LED lights up and the alternator works fine. I also noticed that the engine compartment exhaust fan is not working and the windlass will not work when only the starboard engine is on. I suspect all of these auxiliary things are controlled by a relay or fuse but I cannot find it. The purple wire to the battery isolator goes into a large bundle of purple wires and I don't know where the other end is.

Thanks

Re: Lifting east coast of Italy

Would you mind telling what are 'crazy'? prices in Croatia for lift etc are just to see the extent of the issue ?

Also, what is the quality of services there ?

Re: Lifting east coast of Italy

We lifted our Lagoon 400 in northern Italy in the San Giorgio di Nogaro area for the same reason you mentioned. ?The short hop from Croatia to italy saved us a ton of money. ?Both yards in the San Giorgio area have 8m wide travelifts so should be able to handle your 7.9m Lagoon 450. ?Marina Sant Andrea wanted 800 euros for lift, clean and launch. ?Cradling and storage for 5 months was 1400 euros. ? Marina Planais was similar. ?Hope this helps!

Dan

Re: Lifting east coast of Italy

Try the yard at Brindisi.? Quite reasonably priced last time we enquired and good reports.? Alternatively, how about the Cleopatra at Preveza, Greece.

Good luck.

Panama Posse

Dear fellow Lagoon Owners ;

The start of the 2018-2019 Panama Posse is only a few weeks away.

The second annual ¡°Panama Posse¡± rally sails to seven countries, including Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras, Costa Rica and Panama. ??

We have also negotiated mayor discounts in 10 Marinas, Chandleries and have our own Panama Canal agent to assist your transit.

Currently we have already over 50 vessels? and 2 Lagoons signed up for this epic 6 month sail at your own pace journey.

Lifting east coast of Italy

Can anyone advise where I can get a Lagoon 450 lifted and cleaned on east coast of Italy? Prices in Croatia are crazy and it will be easier and cheaper to sail across.

Many thanks.

Nick

Please see the forwarded email regarding an apparently stolen boat near portugal.

Rob Denney (designer of the boat) would probably be happy to be the point of contact. His email is below.

Thanks
-(not the same) Rob

Begin forwarded message:

From: Rob Denney <harryproa@...>

The 20m/66' harryproa Kleen Breeze has been reported as missing from the anchorage at Culatra, South Portugal.?

A diver has recovered her anchor. ? ?Apparently the chain had been cut. ? ?The case has been reported to the Maritime Police.

The owner has asked me to publicise this in case the boat is seen somewhere in Portugal, Spain or Morocco?

There are some photos at?

Anyone with any information, please contact me at harryproa@...

Does anyone have any suggestions for publicising this among cruisers in the area around Culatra?

Thanks

Rob Denney

Re: Chain Roller on a 450 Lagoon

Thanks everyone for the help! Now in Mayotte headed to Tanzania! Will try to have one fabed

Re: Chain Roller on a 450 Lagoon

Bronze would be a good idea ! What about stainless?

Re: tweeking 380 jib size

Guys, thanks for your input.? What type of continuous furler do you recommend?? Are they rigged for multiple sails?? We have a bowsprit and light and heavy gennakers with socks and it looks like a code0/furler might be the best near term investment.

Re: Off wind headsail choices, pictorially represented

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I used two spinnaker blocks on the bow and a large steel plate underneath to distribute the load rather than the loop installed by Lagoon. Thanks for the advice though.

I also use a block off the bow sprit when trying to get 90 degrees. Parasailor claim you can get to 75 but never got there. Still a great sail though.

Re: Lagoon 400 weight

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

something has to be off. maybe the lift scale. if the light load is 7k kg less than what you are at, which is supposed to be with all tanks half full, and you have 7 tons of extra weight, don't see how your boat would perform...

Re: Lagoon 400 weight

Last time we were on scales it showed 14.4t.
With full water and fuel tanks.
We have genset that adds weight.

Re: Off wind headsail choices, pictorially represented

David,

Are your attachment points on the bow reinforced for the Parasailor? I have a 2009 Lagoon 500, and the attachment points on the bow are simply bolted on with three bolts and no backing plate or fiberglass reinforcement, which, frankly, is a bit shocking. A friend of mine uses a parasailor with much success on a L52. However, he had to have a shipbuilder reinforce his bows to handle the load.

Lagoon 400 weight

Recently I have asked lift operator to check boat weight and it was 17,000 kg. I thought my boat is lightly loaded with around 2-3 T above light weight. If that is true, empty boat weights around 14-15T which is way way beyond factory published 10,350kg.

As this is over max allowed boat weight = 15 T, I am bit worried.?

On the other side boat feels quite performant and in recent rally outdone many glorified brands without any pushing. Also does not feel overloaded or slamming, etc.?

What are other people experiences with boat weight ?

Pomato Point

Prior to hurricane last year there was a great little restaurant on Pomato Point on Anegada BVI. ?Does anyone know if the owner/restaurant survived and is it back/still in business. ?Favorite restaurant to go to.?

Thanks
