I was told to do my arrival so that is my first post thanks to Sam for permission and Linda for helping me ...

Welcome and thanks for joining us! I'm looking forward to getting to know Shawna and reading more.

I think Sam is going to go next to finish up Christmas and then the plan is to jump ahead a few months -

Cheers and happy weekend (for whatever that's worth right now) :)

Colleen :)

Shawna pulled her hat down lower over her eyes to cut the wind from the softly falling snow. It looked a little like Indiana did during Christmas time with her family her ma and Pa.. and brother. She shook her head not sure what day it was days and hours on the trail seemed to meld into one another. She sighed she was cold and tired and couldn't wait for a warm bed and meal. As she rode into town she saw all the candles and the gatherings of people and surmised it was either Christmas or Christmas eve which dowsed her in sorrow remember the last Christmas she had with her brother and his family. Reaching up she rubbed at the long healed scar on her neck. She had lost them all Sarah and Adam to the fire that almost killed her and her brother Chris in a bottle. She pulled her jacket up around her ears to ward off the cold as she continued to ride into town.

She pulled up to the livery seeing people walking out of what seemed to be a church, the sounds of people talking and calling out cheerful hellos indicating this place was peaceful for the most part but she could tell there was always underlying things you never saw. She dismounted and brushed a hand over Stars nose ¡°shhh I know its cold my love but soon you'll be in a warm stall with nice hay and no more riding for a bit hmm...¡± She shivered as the wind blew a bit.? She walked her into the livery after paying for the boarding and heading out towards the boardwalk. She was just stepping out when what she had been fighting since that morning hit with her both barrels. She went to her knees as the world swirled to black. She only wished she had made it to a room before it did.

Yosemite was just boarding the new horse when he saw the man who had paid for the stall go down on the ground. He locked the gate and hurried to their side. He turned them over before darking over to the saloon where he knew Nathan was. ¡°Mr Jackson ...¡± he hurried inside ¡°Mr Jackson I need you to come someone's passed out by the livery ¡.¡± He was out of breath when he was finished and soon was running to keep up with the resident healer.

Nathan had been settled down to get a drink when the livery stable owner had told him someone was hurt. He quickly excused himself and headed to the stable. He saw a black clad figure in the snow if he didn't know that Chris was probably in the saloon he would have thought he was laying there. He frowned ¡°Yosmetie can you help me get them up to my clinic.¡± He got a decisive nod and together they headed up to the clinic.? Yosemetie laid the figure on the bed as Nathan started to undress them he realized with a shock that this was NOT a male figure. He would need help. ¡°Yosemetie can you? stay with them I need to get Cheyanne...¡±

¡°sure Mr Jackson....¡± He sat in the chair waiting.

Nathan hurried down the steps and quickly ran into the saloon looking for Cheyanne and Vin. He headed in their direction when he spotted them ¡°Miss Cheyanne I need help up at the clinic rider came in collapsed outside the livery stable....I don't mean to take you from the festivities but I need your help....¡± He implored the young woman.

Cheyanne glanced over at Josiah, who looked up from his conversation with the new storekeeper Miss Chandler

¡°I must go with Nathan¡±

Josiah gave her an approving nod then looked to Nathan

¡°Anything I can do to help?¡±

¡°I don¡¯t think so, least wise not right now¡± Nathan answered

Vin stood and politely moved Cheyanne¡¯s chair back to give her more ease to leave. He helped her with her cape and She rewarded his kindness with a small smile.

He watched as Cheyanne left with Nathan.

Stopping at the saloon doors Cheyanne pulled the hood of her cape over her head before the two hurried off.

Vin had to admit he was disappointed the evening had ended so soon but he understood. He could tell Cheyanne was feeling uncomfortable in the crowded saloon anyway, even though it was filled with people she knew, she tried hard not to show it, but those that knew her could see her uneasiness.

¡°What was that all about?¡± JD asked

¡°Someone collapsed over at the livery¡± Vin answered resuming his seat at the table ¡°Nathan and Cheyanne are seein to them¡±

¡°You should take them some food later Josiah¡±

Lilly suggested as she set a heaping bowl of mashed potatoes in the middle of the table.

¡°A fine suggestion Miss Lilly¡± Josiah agreed

As soon as Cheyanne and Nathan arrived back at his room Cheyanne quickly set about getting the young woman comfortable. There was something familiar about her. She had seen this girl before, a long time ago.

It was hard for Cheyanne to remember exactly when or where, it had been several years ago. She and Josiah had found the girl passed out and stopped to help her.

The girl suffered from painful headaches and Cheyanne had given her some healing herbs in a tea. When she was rested and feeling better they had gone their separate ways.

Sensing that this is what must have happened to the girl at the livery Cheyanne sent Nathan to retrieve her medicine pouch and set about making the tea. She was in dire need of more herbs but with the winter weather being what it was there was no way to find them now.? She would have to make due with what she had.

The girls started to stir and Nathan went to her side.

¡°It¡¯s alright, your safe.¡± The girls eyes fluttered open. Startling green eyes stared up at him. ¡°easy now....¡± Nathan put his hand on her shoulder ¡°you're okay...¡±

Shawna shifted slowly to a sitting position startled taking a deep breath trying to calm the fight or flight reflex when she turned to see a young woman standing by the dark skinned man. Her smile widened ¡°Chey?¡±
