We're a local non-profit arts organization that runs the weekly community market, the Melrose Trading Post, every Sunday at Fairfax High School. Our team facilitates a promotional program for local non-profit organizations called the MTP Non-Profit Boost Program. Through this program, local non-profit organizations (including museums) can get one free booth at MTP per month to promote their upcoming programming, sign up volunteers, and to host interactive booths or performances at the event. MTP receives an average of 5,000 patrons every Sunday, plus we host 275 artisan and food vendors, and we host programs and live music on our outdoor stage. It is critically important for us to document the diverse firsthand accounts of these elders while they are still alive to tell them. DESCRIPTION OUTWORDS seeks an experienced, freelance Podcast Co-Host excited by, and dedicated to, the organization’s mission, vision, and core values. We're looking for a self-motivated, independent worker with outstanding organizational and communication skills. The Podcast Co-Host works directly with the OUTWORDS Communications Director to co-host a series of six 30-minute podcasts focused on transgender, gender non-conforming, and intersex (TGI) legislation and politics in California. Each of the six episodes will include a standalone conversation between two co-hosts and 1-2 LGBTQ+ elders from The Outwords Archive. The interviews/conversations will focus on trans healthcare legislation, trans immigration law, trans BIPOC incarceration, trans representation in the legal system, intersex law, and two-spirit identity as a legal and political issue. This season’s theme is “Find Your Way Home” - After 22 seasons of accepting submissions from playwrights worldwide, Little Fish Theatre is celebrating the creativity and diversity of voices from our own backyard – in California! California playwrights (residing in CA) are invited to submit (1) original short one-act play exploring the theme of Home —whatever that means to you. Whether it’s a place, a person, a memory, or a dream, we want to see your unique take on the journey of finding, losing, or redefining “home”. Hello! Please forward to Lighting Designer friends you may have! My school, ArTES Magnet HS in San Fernando (where the 210 and the 118 meet!) is looking for a Lighting Designer for our Fall Show, a Musical Revue. We are a small LAUSD arts school. Our theatre has a lot of new equipment, including many LEDs, movers, and an ION board. For now, I am paying $1,000 which is paid 2 weeks after the show closes. The show dates are Nov. 6, 7, and 8 @ 7pm. Tech week would be the week before, starting with a LOOONG day on Sat 10/26th. If the designer isn’t able to be there that whole time, that would be ok. And then tech Week Mon-Fri (10/28-11/1) from 4-7pm. (We’d prob take off for Halloween if the person wanted to…) And then another LOOONG Sat on 11/2 (9am-5pm). (Again, negotiable) Then dress rehearsals Mon and Tues 11/4 and 11/5 4-7pm. Any OTHER times the designer wants to be in the theater to hang/focus before or outside of those times is absolutely fine. And bonus points if they also like mentoring our Tech Students! These students are trained and available to help with hanging/focusing….including on Saturdays. We are a dues-paying membership company, offering a variety of workshops, stage plays, solo shows, playwriting festivals, and more. Unlike traditional theater companies, we are a workshop-based organization that produces content without a fixed season of shows. We are seeking actors who are serious about joining a membership theater company and want to become part of the LA theater community. Ideal candidates are passionate about honing their craft, self-motivated, and excited to create their own work. Our motto is, "What you put into it is what you will get out of it." Audition Requirements: Prepare: One memorized monologue (max 2 minutes) One memorized two-person scene (max 2 minutes) Please ensure these pieces are contrasting (comedy/drama) and memorized.
