Here's the latest! We really need your help in volunteering at least 1
hour for this Saturday's graduation.
Dear sisters and brothers,
I am writing to you at this time as I have just received word that there
is a need for volunteers for the Xicano/Latino graduation for Berkeley
High School students.
When: Saturday, June 2nd
Where: Pauley Ballroom, MLK Student Union, UC Berkeley
What: Berkeley High Xicano/Latino Graduation
Time: two shifts- 2:30p.m.-4:30p.m. and 7:00-11:00p.m. (but if you can
only stay for an hour that's great too!)
Perks: seeing young people graduate, free dinner, free dance, just seeing
people rejoice at such a great occassion!
Here are the details regarding the shifts:
(I received the following info from one of the high school graduates-Matt
Chavez)
2:30-3:00p.m. need volunteers to help prepare decorations
(We are not allowed to enter Pauley Ballroom until 3:45p.m. because there
is another event taking place.)
3:30-4:30p.m. -need volunteers to help with the doors, tickets,
directions, etc.
-also need volunteers to set up tables and decorations inside
(Some graduates like Matt Chavez will be there to help.)
The ceremony will take place until 7:00p.m.
7:00-11:30p.m.-need volunteers to chaperone dance, work the doors to make
sure only graduates get in, monitor activity so that high school students
are allowed to have another graduation at UC Berkeley.
If you can volunteer some time please reply as soon as possible.
