?Estimados vecinos, Con solo una semana hasta que negociemos nuestro pedido con la fábrica de cobijas en Tlaxcala, estamos al 65% de nuestro objetivo de recaudar $67,000 pesos. Necesitamos recaudar $23,000 pesos más para el 16 de octubre. De lo contrario, probablemente pediremos menos cobijas que las 840 cobijas que pedimos el a?o pasado. Blanket Drive - Final push
?Dear neighbors,
With just one week left until we start to negotiate our order with the blanket factory in Tlaxcala, we are at 65% of our goal of raising $67,000 pesos. We need to raise $23,000 more pesos by Oct. 16. Otherwise, we will likely order fewer blankets than the 840 blankets we ordered last year. I don’t want to pressure anyone to donate who is not interested or able, but if you do wish to support the blanket drive and haven’t yet donated, please consider donating now. Dieter Storr will collect your donation (I am away on vacation), or you can leave an envelope at the Cafe. (Write “Blanket Drive” and your name on the envelope you leave at the Cafe.) The staff at the Cafe have been collecting envelopes for us. Dieter can also receive a Zelle transfer from a US bank account. Contact him at dwstorr@... for details before you use Zelle. A few people have emailed Dieter or me, committing to a donation upon returning to Los Labradores. We have included those commitments in our totals. We will include future donation commitments (to be honored later) in our funding total, when we begin discussions with the factory next week. Again, we appreciate everyone’s generous contributions. 开云体育Estimados vecinos / Dear neighbors, This year, our blanket drive is getting off to a fairly good start, but we would like to move things along, as we can’t negotiate pricing with the factory until we are fairly certain we will have sufficient funding to order 840 blankets, the same number as last year. Anticipating an increase in price due to inflation, our goal is $67,000 pesos, 10% more than the amount we raised last year. ? If we place our order by mid-October, we will receive the blankets by Nov. 1. If we exceed our goal, we will order more blankets.? Some people have asked about the cost of the blankets. For the past two years we have been ordering direct from a blanket factory in Tlaxcala, saving 30%-40% of the cost of buying a similar blanket at a retail store … and the blankets were delivered to Los Labradores. Last year we negotiated a price of $74pesos/blanket. Assuming a price increase 10% ($82p/blanket) this year, a contribution of $500p will buy 6 blankets; $1,000p will buy 12. ? Winter is coming. It is time to raise funds for another successful blanket drive. With your generous contributions, Dieter Storr and I ?will order 800+ blankets (one truck load) from a blanket factory in Tlaxcala, as
we have the past two years.
As we did last year, we will deliver blankets to our security guards and to seven communities near here, where our workers are from - Los Galvanes, La Petaca, La Palma, Rancho Viejo, La Cuadrilla, Los Juarez, and Jose
de la Caja. We are open to considering other communities.
I will use my car to deliver blankets to the communities and Dieter will coordinate the delivery times with each community.?
100% of your donations will be used to buy blankets from the factory.. We hope to collect donations by October 15, so we can place the order and receive delivery from the factory by the end of October.

We brought Starlink with us and it has not ever gone out except when there is no power and then we use our phone hot spots. Starlink costs half as much in Mexico as in the U.S. and I have no proprietary interest.? It costs more than Megacable and you have to invest in the equipment to connect via satellite. ?5,900 pesos. The monthly subscription starts at 1,045 pesos, twice as much as Megacable.? But you get what you pay for or is it that you pay for what you get?? Several people have looked at our installation which is rather basic.? We also have a VPN so, all in all, we're well connected.? ? |
