The Baton Rouge Audubon Society will host our next program on
Wednesday, September 25th at the East Baton Rouge Parish Main Library on
Goodwood Blvd.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Colombia has the highest avian diversity of any country in the world. Dr.
Valsaraj recently traveled there with six other folks and he was able to
observe and photograph many species, including 197 personal "lifers!" Dr.
Valsaraj¡¯s academic research includes efforts to document and understand
the effect of chemicals and pesticides on avian biodiversity. Dr. Valsaraj
will briefly discuss his research, but this presentation will primarily
focus on his recent travels to Colombia and the amazing photographs of
various species he was able to take while there.
