After much testing and adjusting my IC-7610 I was finally able to eliminate this problem of not operating CW on 80 mtrs without the amp going in bypass mode. On the 7610 you can adjust the rise time of the dots and dashes. Mine was on the factory default of 4 ms and I turned it up to 8ms and the problem disappeared.‘I plan to work the Thanksgiving weekend CQWW CW contest on all bands and will update all on whether this adjustment really did the trick. For any of you experiencing this problem Look to see if you have an adjustment for CW rise time and try a higher setting
