How to add non-default track widths?

By googling, I've discovered that the frozen track width selector in Pcbnew is due to only one track width deliberately being allowed until the hidden puzzle is solved. But after adding 4 more widths in the Design Rules Editor, the selector is still frozen on the 0.25mm default. An exit & restart shows that the extra 4 widths are now known to the Design Rules Editor, but the selector still won't shift, either beforehand or after shift-W.

All I need is to be able to select one of the added widths, then use that for any chosen airwire, in the standard laying out process. Can Kicad do that? Somehow?

One flummoxed Erik.

When routing (X) right click, Select Track/Via Width, pick a width or enter a custom value.

Which version of KiCad are you using? Just so the best advice can be given.

Many thanks, Brian. That works a treat.
I'll get the hang of this over time. The trick is managing to make a
board before I'm fully up to speed. (My new off-grid solar installation
needs a couple of power diverters, one for the existing HWS (water
"boiler" in UK, I think.), one to be added. There's ample sun now, but winter is coming. Responding to frequency shift power availability signalling, and using low interference "burst fire" of the triac, are interesting exercises, as is reliable zero crossing detection. We'll see how it goes. There's sure to be some learning.)
