%D inserts the current date in5to the text string.

Personally I think changing the date is a VERY bad idea. The date tells
you when the project was started.

It is more usual to have amendments and modifications documented with the
date of the amendment.

As always it's your workflow, so your rules.. :-)

Thank you very much, this was exactly what I want

I tried this without success:

in "Page Setting" I add in "issue date" %D, but in the description field, there is only displayed:
"Modified: %D"

Is your viewer in the right mode? Note that there are two views: "User Display Mode" and "Native Display Mode". In the user display mode, the %D has the date substitution; in the native mode, the "%D" is displayed.
