As in topic, I did a fresh install of 7.02 on a win10 fresh install. I can import my old board designs fine. Schematic crashes every time. CPU load goes way high, need to kill with task manager, red "X" doesn't work, get a "not responding", the "wait" circle stays on screen.? Anyone have any idea what I need to look for that is making kicad unhappy?

Well, found some comments about schematic not loading and as a result tried setting display to fallback. Worked fine.
