Pads-PCB netlist
Benoit Leveille
First thank you to set up this nice group, and a big thank to mr
Charras for the generosity of sharing this software to the world. I saw on Kicad web site in the news folder that it is now possible to export a netlist in Pads-pcb format. I tried to found in the menu and in the directories the utility. I found in the plug-in folder a .exe file that seem to be that what I am looking for. I tried to see in the help file how to use it but I did not found it. May somebody already used it and how? Thank you Benoit |

Last version (kicad-2005-08-29) and last unstable version (06 sept 2005) of eeschema have a netlist plugin system. Eeschema creates a generic (intermediate)? netlist output (generic list of components, list of pins and list of nets). The plugin read this generic file and create the new netlist format, and Eeschema can run automatically this plugin. This plugin is very easy to create because the? generic netlist output is designed to make easy such a plugin . A sample is given, with comments to create new plugins. Currently this sample creates a PADS-PCB netlist format. (Note, this format is not very well tested.) The new eeschema netlist tool had up to 8 user programmables entries to launch these plugins. At first time, you must open the nelist dialog box, open the blank page (the last entry) and : give a title (ex: PADS-PCB) give the command line to launch the plugin (ex /usr/local/kicad/linux/plugins/netlist_form_pads-pcb or d:/kicad/winexe/plugins/netlist_form_pads-pcb.exe) And run the net netlist generator (like the other formats). This version is unstable because the user interface can be modified, and the documentation is not yet updated This unstable version is only dowloadable as separate files? from ftp://iut-tice.ujf-grenoble.fr/cao/kicad/ (linux and linux/plugins or winexe and winexe/plugins). The last source code (with the plugin source) is also dowloadable. (ftp://iut-tice.ujf-grenoble.fr/cao/sources If you use this feature, send me infos on results. --

I wish to create a PADS netlist from EESCHEMA. I looked in the plugins folder and it seems to want to go from PADS to KiCad. Thanks. Clyde --- In kicad-users@..., "Benoit Leveille" <tonamiben@...> wrote:
