did that, because I can't find? a way that works. On 2024-05-11 22:34, Peter Ayearst

Import Spice schematic
开云体育Can version 8.02 import a Spice schematic,
specifically an LTspice schematic? --

PCB reflection
开云体育I found that if I 'select all', the rotation
triangles on the toolbar work correctly, but the mirror
triangles do not reflect the tracks. I can't believe that is
intentional. --

Re: Newbie question!
Hi Eugene, There are two ways to move symbols. Using the Move command (shortcut 'M'), the symbol is moved without maintaining the wired connections. Using the Drag command (shortcut 'D'), connected wires are dragged along with the symbol. Either command is also accessible by right-clicking on the symbol. Kind regards, Magnus On Tue, 23 Apr 2024, 00:54 W2HX via , <w2hx=[email protected]> wrote: Hi all, brand new to kicad. Re: Newbie question!
开云体育Ahh! Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it and it did, in fact, keep the wires connected, so we’re much better than we were! Last question, in this picture, I dragged the neon lamp to the left. It would have been great if it could also move the connection points along the green wires. I checked my preferences and it says “constrain buses and wires to H or V” and that is enabled. I take this preference to mean Horizonal or Vertical. However, it seems it didn’t completely adhere to that rule in this case.? If there is anything else I can configure for that it would be great. Otherwise, thanks for the help! ? ? ? ? ? ? 73 Eugene W2HX

Newbie question!
Hi all, brand new to kicad. I am on windows and kicad version Application: KiCad Schematic Editor (64-bit) Version: (6.0.1), release build.
I can place components no problem. I can connect wires from one component to another. My problem is, when I move a component, it disconnects from the wire. How do I get my wires to stay connected when I move a component? thanks Eugene? |
Re: 'Snap to grid'
开云体育Aha! I didn't find that this time, but I did
about 5 years ago, using version 6. I didn't have to fix it. I
also found that the widely-available converter-to-THT board for
the SSM2167 has some pins offset. On 2024-04-15 15:49, Andy wrote:

Re: 'Snap to grid'
开云体育Agreed: I have definitely set the snap grid,
but I wonder now whether I did that right at the beginning or
one or two placings later. On 2024-04-15 14:22, Alan Pearce via

Re: 'Snap to grid'
The snap grid may be finer than the 2.54mm. It is a while since i used KiCad, but IIRC the visible grid is seperate to the snap grid. On Mon, 15 Apr 2024 at 12:30, John Woodgate via <jmw=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: 'Snap to grid'
开云体育I set the grid to 2.54 mm, but some parts are
not snapped to the grid when first placed. If I try to move one,
it then snaps, but It seems that I can place one 'off-grid' and
not notice that. I do know that some parts use metric spacing,
but I don't have any of them. On 2024-04-15 12:12, Andy wrote:
