Not sure what version of their service groups.io makes available for open-source projects, but kicad surely qualifies. Worth inquiring. Also, groups.io is far superior to the yahoo groups product. I

It only costs that if you want extra space. The free version comes with 1Gb of space. I'm on a couple of large lists (8,000-9,000 members) that moved to the free version a while ago and they find it

I use ground pads with Through holes on top and I always number the overlapping holes/pads with the same number. As long as you don¡¯t mind electrically connecting pads they can have the same number.

For example, a USB connector might have 4 lugs. These are on the same piece of metal shell. This is how I currently work: I number each lug on the footprint, and add all these 4 pins to the schematic
