Re: OT: PCB suppliers
When the add-in is installed, a new button appears in the toolbar in pcbnew. When you press that button, it produces the Gerbers and Excellon files, zips them up and uploads the zip to PCBWay and

Re: OT: PCB suppliers
Well, I tried again, and it installed. Now what? I have the Gerbers and drill file in a ZIP, but no information about how to send it to PCB-New to get a quote.

Re: OT: PCB suppliers
In KiCad 'Plug in and content manager', there is a plug in link to PCB-WAY, but it seems not to work.

No. It still works.
Did you forget to press the [Apply Pending Changes] button?

Sorry, but I do not understand what you mean for "PC-WAY install".
Just visit the site at this link: *https://www.pcbway.com/

Re: OT: PCB suppliers
I usually get swift responses to my questions, but I didn't see a response to this one. Has the link to PCB-WAY been discontinued?

Re: OT: PCB suppliers
I am trying to use the PCB-WAY button. When I try to 'install' I get 'install pending' but nothing more happens. Please advise.

Re: Courtyards and silk screens
Most PCB fabs will remove this anyway. If you don't want to leave it to them, KiCad can do it for you:
File > Fabrication Outputs > Gerbers > Gerber Options > Subtract soldermask from silkscreen ==>

Re: Courtyards and silk screens
JLCPCB do not put silkscreens on solder pads, so it is not a matter in this case. Just it will not apear on the pcb. Jean-Paul

Re: Courtyards and silk screens
As other have said it's really down to you. The only thing to
watch out for is silk screen on the actual solder pads which you don't
want to happen.

Re: Courtyards and silk screens
In addition to signifying required mechanical clearance (+placement tolerance), the courtyards can also account for the "shadowing" by tall components. This mostly affects PCBs with SMDs that will

For your conscience, you could always disable the courtyards error checking:

Hello,
Regarding courtyards overlapping, only you can know if there is enough space to place your components taking into account their actual sizes.
Regarding the silkscreens overlapping, it is an

Can I safely ignore 'errors' abut courtyards overlapping and 'warnings' about silkscreens (the outlines of components) overlapping? Some courtyards are quite a lot larger than the parts, and I don't
