Updates
Hey all, I’ve reached out personally to all of the external systems (c-bridges and repeaters) that I could find contact information for and asked them to update their records to properly reflect K4USD’s new FQDN/IP. There’s still some on the list I can’t find info for, such as the owners of the repeaters: AB4NP-dmr - NaplesIGN FL - 442.000 CC1 - Joined 20240822 KB0UPW-Little Canada MN - 442.875 CC11 - 20220822 And I can’t find contact info for a number of inbound c-bridge connections from what appear to be small connections. This is just an update on the progress to restoring 100% service. Lion -- Lion J Templin Corseris, LLC +1 650-240-1191 +44 (33) 00271800

12/7/24 Progress Report & Repeater Owners
Hey everyone! Good progress is being made in getting everything back online …. But we still have a ways to go. If you know anyone on this list that’s not reconnected, let them know, let me know so I can reach out, etc. I want to be proactive in getting everyone back online. Thanks! BM progress ...
Good news everyone! I have been given a link to create a ticketing system account in BM’s ticket system after I asked my same question again today! I know we all deal with speed-of-light RF every day, but the > C speed of BM is so fast it qualifies as “spooky action at a distance.” -- -- Lion J Templin Corseris, LLC +1 650-240-1191 +44 (33) 00271800

Brandmeister is in progress...
Hey all, Just wanted to let you know that BrandMeister has begun repairing our link with the opening salvo “You’re not the c-bridge operator” “I don’t recognize you” “It’s still online on its original IP address” (it sure as heck isn’t) and “[gibberish] shut down [gibberish] port 42420” and of course “open a ticket”. I have responded with a logical and well-reasoned answer, which I expect to be read as “[gibberish]” … but, the process has begun to restore BM connectivity. [k4usd-network-operators] K4USD Network has a new DNS name and IP address!
Hey everyone, I’m working with Matt getting service restored right now. You should be able to connect your repeaters/devices back to the c-bridge at any time. The cross connects are active, are carrying traffic, and ready. Below Matt has the new FQDN and IP, your port and auth keys remain the same. We’re working on getting basic functionality up right away, advanced features will come back in time. Thanks! Lion, K1LEO

K4USD Network has a new DNS name and IP address!
Greetings, Repeater owners and Network Operators, The University of Minnesota has decided to move our server hosting the K4USD c-bridge out of the room that it was colocated in. This is a good opportunity to transition the c-bridge to a more robust, secure datacenter and change up the admin. Lion Templin, K1LEO, has graciously stepped forward to move K4USD's operations to a commercial datacenter and take over admin duties. I will be assisting Lion as he gets up to speed on day to day operation and administration of the c-bridge. Lion's email address is CC:'ed here, and is: Lion Templin <lion@...> The new DNS name for peering and repeater owners to program into their systems is: k4cbridge.entracom.net / 38.92.176.12 Regards, -Matt ----- Regards, ---Matt Genelin--- Sr. Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer ARS N0YNT/W0USD, GMRS WQCQ790 Cell: +1 (612) 605-5382 Texts or call. Help getting an XLR 5700 connected to K4USD.network
Greetings, K4USD repeater owners, Nate (cc:ed here) is having trouble configuring his Motorola XLR 5700 repeater connected to K4USD for the first time. The screenshots he shared with me show that his IP and UDP ports, along with the shared secret, are correct. Does anyone on this list run an XLR 5700 for which we can take a peek at the screenshots? Talk Groups
Howdy Ken! BM apparently added K4USD back online, and Jeff W4JEW added the CC-CC Links. The routing for these talk groups has not yet been added, as BM and K4USD have different policies on who-can-share-which talk groups. BM has also disconnected one of our sister networks, the MNTRBO network. Sadly, this complicates things for K4USD. I'll see about re-adding BM's 3100 group, but I cannot guarantee how long/if it will stay connected. I'll do everything in my power not to violate BM's rules, but BM's rules are arbitrary and ever-changing. Kim K3OCM indicated via text message everyone's impatience with BM's off-again, on-again sort of treatment of K4USD as a network. I agree; this stinks. In this situation I don't have much power or control of BM's mood swings. Warmly, -matt Regards, ---Matthew Genelin--- Fast Computer Service Co. 612.605.5382

MN State TG 3127 added Full time on TS#1
Greetings K4USD repeater owners, I have corrected some strange configs across the MN repeaters below so that: MN State TG 3127 is Full Time onTS #1 (Kerchunk Local 2 on TS #2 to disconnect). MN State TG 3127 is PTT-up for 15 mins on TS #2. NH7CY/R Minneapolis N0YNT/R Oakdale K0GOI/R Centerville K0GOI/R St. Paul K0GOI/R Woodbury KB0UPW/R Little Canada. I have also updated the fleetmap online to reflect this change. 73's, -matt -- ----- Matthew Genelin Computer Engineer mgenelin@... +1 (612) 605-5382 http://www.genelin.com ARS N0YNT/W0USD/W0YC GMRS WQCQ790 NNNNN

Events 1 (TG 8911) and Events 2 (TG 8912) added to MN/WI repeaters
Greetings, K4USD repeater owners, MNTRBO is providing a nice feed of Events 1 and 2 (8911, 8912) to us, but our MN and WI repeaters needed it programmed in. I have added the following TalkGroups (TGs) to the appropriate Time Slots (TSs) as listed below: Events 1 TG #8911 TS #1 Events 2 TG #8912 TS #2 NH7CY/R Minneapolis, MN N0YNT/R Oakdale, MN K0GOI/R Centerville, MN K0GOI/R St. Paul, MN K0GOI/R Woodbury, MN K9JW/R Knapp, WI KB0UPW/R Little Canada, MN K4USD/R Menomonie, WI We are getting better every day! 73's, -matt -- ----- Matthew Genelin Computer Engineer mgenelin@... +1 (612) 605-5382 http://www.genelin.com ARS N0YNT/W0USD/W0YC GMRS WQCQ790 NNNNN

Events #1 TG replaced on Fleet map with MSP METRO TG 31272 TS#1.
Greetings, K4USD repeater owners! I have replaced the unused Events 1 Talk Group on the Google Drive Fleet map here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1EtFnd1rKnvwoR7W9Z-FAOMTzC2IfbBGZ/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=117464404924348101183&rtpof=true&sd=true With MSP METRO TG 37272 on TS #1. ... While both talk groups are still connected, having the more active MSP METRO TG 31272 on the fleet map would seem more reasonable instead of an unused Events Group. … The MN TAC TG 37270 would be the natural place for Emergency Services and Events to migrate over to using. 73's, -matt -- ----- Matthew Genelin Computer Engineer mgenelin@... +1 (612) 605-5382 http://www.genelin.com ARS N0YNT/W0USD/W0YC GMRS WQCQ790 NNNNN
