Following last night's meeting. I have given some thought regarding the improvement in the Snow Flake Parade. As well as other public venues that KBARA is involved?with.

First, I would like to suggest?conducting a "SWOT" analysis. This is a process in which the organization can be involved in "looking at ourselves". SWOT is an acronym?for the process.? Being possessed?as a question...

S - (Strengths) What are the strength(s) of the organization.?

W - (Weaknesses) What are the weaknesses of the organization?

O - (Opportunities)? What are the opportunities of the organization?

T - (Threats) What are the threats to the organization?

Once these are identified. Each of the four can be broken down. Again, the subject matter individually identified objectively. Any of the subcategories?being identified,? that are being less than desirable. Then a plan can be developed, to bring about a positive outcome.

The "SWOT" exercise can be applied to any plan's development initially.? Then moving forward with an IAP (Incident Action Plan).? For any public event in which communications are our focal point to be involved.??

Specifically, regarding public events. I have attached a fire service based "Incident Action Plan" template. That can be modified, as well as redesigned to meet the needs of KBARA. And can be easily?distributed to all parties (prior to the event), be they small or large events. It also would meet the criteria?of following acceptable documentation. For the "best practices" for command and control - incident command documentation. The format being shared with local, state, and federal agencies that use the national model for ICS.??
