ARRL Volunteers on the Air event

Hello Erik and KBARA members!

Please distribute this to ANYONE in your club and all of Oregon you feel would be interested in participating.

If...
  • you are in Oregon,
  • you're an ARRL member,
  • you can operate responsibly,
  • you can use a computer logging program that can generate an adi file,
You can operate as W1AW/7 as part of the 2023 Volunteers on the Air event.

If you've never been "the hunted," it's pretty cool to have people trying to work you.
If you have been "the hunted," you know how much fun it can be.

We are doing our signup and band-mode scheduling via a web site called?.

To sign up, please go to the web site and sign up for an account.
If you already have an account, you should use that account.

Then...

Go to the?W1AW/7 OR Second week?event and?REQUEST TO OPERATE.

I'll then review your info, and if approved, you can select time slots.

I'll be on 146.520 simplex, Sep 8th 0400 UTC to 0600 UTC (that's Sep 7th 2100 to 2300 PDT) operating under W1AW/7.

I plan to call CQ again today, Sunday, on national 2M simplex at 146.520, from 1100L to 1300L.? Please stop by if you're around.

I was on the air listening but didn't hear anyone. Not sure if my antenna is wonky or if no one was on? I can hit the repeater fine but haven't tried simplex yet.

That's a bummer.? I do want to let you know that I was on for the full two hours and have made several contacts on 146.520.

W1AW/7 Oregon final hours for VOTA (ends at 1700L today).?

I plan to operate on 2M simplex, either the national calling frequency 146.520 or the local frequency 146.420.? I hope to catch some of you between the hours of 1100 and 1300.
