SOTA Lecture
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýAll,
Please let me know if you are interested in a SOTA (Summits on the Air) lecture put on by Amy Haptonstall (AG7GP). ?
From our club meeting, it sounded like a Saturday 1pm class was of more interest than a 1hr Zoom class. ?The idea with the in-person class is we would possibly take a field trip to Hamaker (weather permitting) after the class and do a SOTA activation. For dates, I'm thinking October 12th or 19th. ?The later we go, the more chance of bad weather. Please let me know if you're interested and what date works best for you so we can put something together. Thanks, Charlie / K7AKT |

Re: National Preparedness Month: Ensuring Family Safety
Hi, I was looking at the Oregon Emergency Management website and they have a "Be 2 Weeks Ready|" took kit to help with family disaster planning.? They state: Being?2?Weeks Ready?means having an emergency plan and enough supplies for you and everyone in your household to survive for at least two weeks following a disaster. This?may sound overwhelming, but you're probably more prepared than you think! This?Be 2 Weeks Ready?program is designed to help you start from where you're at and build your self-reliance and community?preparedness step-by-step. Alan KF3KF

Re: High-altitude balloon telemetry
Sondehub also has a separate utility for tracking meteorological radiosondes (weather balloons), . Using the browser on my phone and a tape measure antenna with my HT, I've recovered 3 sondes. It's a fun way to practice radio direction finding between fox hunts. I even set up a simple station at my house for tracking and uploading sonde telemetry to sondehub. |
