 ??? I have a very very early decoder I have lost the instructions
to.? ? The only ID I have is the sticker on the chip.? It reads;

MELEC TL2054

 ??? It may or may not be a sound decoder so maybe someone could tell me what they think it is.? Also I tried to read the pertinent CVs using JMRI and couldn't.

If it is old enough, it may not support anything but the standard NMRA registers. Try reading register 1 in register mode.

I have a couple of old decoders I have to do this with.

??? Right you are.? It's even reads 14 step mode.? CV7=19 and CV8=147 (Umelec Ing. Buero)!? Are they even in business anymore?

Would have been helpfull to know it was Umelec and not Melec.

CV8 says it's a Umelec Ing. Buero, however the sticker on the chip says MELEC TL2054.? So I have no idea what to say other than they forgot to put the U on the sticker!

??? I will try it again on JMRI using the 2054 setting.

The Umelec ATL2054? is in DecoderPro

??? OK was able to read the CVs, I think.? I'm using SPROG and DP.? However after reading CVs (motor was active then) and then using the throttle I got no response from the motor or forward/reverse lights (green, forward light stuck on).? There is also an indication in the pane for the 2054 that it's a sound decoder.? Is it?? There are solder pads on the decoder that would indicate that additional wires need to be added by the purchaser.? And maybe additional circuits.

Unless you enjoy this, I would not put time on it.

???? Not going but would give it to someone, who has the time, for the cost of postage.
