MTH DCS/DCC Decoder
#mth
Bob, our club has two MTH locomotives one is an A-B-A F unit and the other a Milwaukee Road Bi-Polar. They respond to programming with Decoder-Pro but have one feature that can't be changed. In order for the sound and lights to be active you must push F3 prior to applying power to the motor. I contacted them and they told me that they would not change that feature. At any rate they run nice but if they stop due to loss of power and then start up again they run silent until you stop and click on F3 and start it again. Hope this helps,

Sounds like the loss of power issue is a track issue, not a manufacture problem.....

开云体育I guess it’s Foot in the mouth, since it’s a non signer of this post.?Of course your CV8 comment doesn’t work. ?To reset a MTH decoder, you choose address 55 and then CV55 and a value of 55. ?This must be done on the main, not program track. If you want to reset a MTH decoder I have never had a problem reading the programmable ?CV’s using Decoder Pro, using program mode.? More fake news am myths, that plagued MTH, in forums.? Now if you are a guy or woman, not sure with no signature, that needs the DCC sounds of toilets flushing etc. Then MTH in DCC mode isn’t for you Dave In PA Sent from iPhone Xs Max On Dec 2, 2019, at 14:09, fcot2002@... wrote:

Dave, It depends.
Reading thru the three existing? DecoderPro definition file for MTH . Early version decoder was Reset : CV55 = 55 on program track only The next decoder revision has this : In OPS MODE ONLY? (Program on Main mode) Reset All CV's : CV8 = 8 Reset ALL CV's except Speed Table : CV8 = 192 Reset Volumes, Smoke, and Lioght settings: CV8 =64 Reset Address : CV8 = 128 On Program Track only (Service Mode) RESET? all CV's : CV55 = 55 Marc |

开云体育Program on the main Call up CV55 Make value 55 This should reset your decoder to factory settings Dave In PA Sent from iPhone Xs Max On Dec 4, 2019, at 13:05, FCOT2002 <fcot2002@...> wrote:

Fran?ois,
CV 8 is purposely greyed out in the definitions to prevent accidental writing. To reset, in the top menu bar of the roster entry is an item labeled Reset. Click on that and click on factory reset in the drop down menu. Depending on the decoder you may have one or more reset options. -- Peter Ulvestad JMRI Users Group Moderator - ( ) Tam Valley Group Moderator - ( ) Sprog-DCC Group Moderator - ( ) Edmonton Model Railroad Association - |
Fran?ois,
Tricks like the reset methods via a single CV is to use the Tools->Programmers->Single CV Programmer, that is from PanelPro. From DecoderPro it is found at Actions->Single CV Programmer. You can pick the programming method and just type in any CV values regardless of if it was in the roster entry or not. -Ken Cameron, Member JMRI Dev Team www.jmri.org www.fingerlakeslivesteamers.org www.cnymod.org www.syracusemodelrr.org |
