Locked Important Changes to Jython and Custom Logging in JMRI 5.5.4 #jython #logging

Important Changes to Logging in JMRI 5.5.4
I'd like to inform people about important changes to the logging system in JMRI 5.5.4.
While most users won't be affected, there are some important details to note:
?
Custom Logging Control Files:
Custom default.lcf Logging Control Files will no longer work in JMRI 5.5.4.
You may wish to create a new default_lcf.xml file in the Log4J2 Logging Configuration XML format. For instructions on how to do this, please refer to our JMRI Logging support link,
?and also within the file itself,?
?
Jython Scripts:
Jython scripts that import org.apache.log4j will no longer function.
If you have this import in your scripts, you'll need to update them.
For some examples, please see??
.
?
?
We apologise for any inconvenience these changes may cause.
Please understand that these changes were made after careful consideration to improve the long-term stability and user-friendliness of our logging support.
?
If you have any questions, encounter logging issues, or need further assistance with logging configurations, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to help!

Hi Wouter,

No problem with sharing this, although I don't personally use Facebook regularly enough to monitor the group there to assist with any queries.
