Edge Connectors in Layout Editor. #layouteditor

 

Hi, I am developing two Layout Panels for my two-level layout. I have added an Edge Connector on each Panel for the connecting track between the two panels. When I try to "Edit Link" to connect the Panels, nothing happens. No Dialogue Box appears. Has this occurred to others, and is there a fix? The JMRI version I am using is 17.0.13.

Stewart,

The version you showed is the Java version. ?The JMRI version will be 5.something.

Edge Connector "links" are connections between two blocks. ?For example,

Panel 1 :: ?track segment (block A) -> EC [link] EC -> track segment (block Q) :: Panel 2

My problem is, when I click on "Edit Links" in the Edge Connector dialogue box, nothing happens. According to Help, another dialogue box should open up. I have an Edge Connector connected to track in both of my Layout Panels, just can't connect them.

Stewart,

After trying to create a link, go to Help -> System Console. ?Click on the "Copy to clipboard" button and paste into a reply.

What are the two block names for the track segments attached to the two edge connectors?

You can also upload the layout data xml file to the group's ProblemsBeingWorkedOn file folder and we can review what you have done.

I tested 5.11.4 trying to creating a link between two edge connectors as Stewart did and I am not seeing a dialogue box to complete the linking process either. ?I have created links in the recent past (sorry I can’t tell you which version).?

I did a test with 5.11.4 and linking works fine. ?

If you don't get the second dialog, look at the system console. ?Here is an intentional error:

22:21:19,009 ay.layoutEditor.PositionablePointView ERROR - EC1.setLink(); Can not set link until we have a connecting track with a block assigned [AWT-EventQueue-0]
