Locked Digitrax DN147A0 definition for DecoderPro... #definitions #digitrax

DN147A0 is the replacement for the DN163A0 board, just wondering if a decoder definition exists or comparable existing definition. Currently the DN147 that does exist appears to be an older definition. Apologies if this has already been covered, my search came up with no results.?
?
Thanks,
Tim

Sorry I don't have a solution but I may be able prevent you from following some advice I got.
?
Don't try to trick the DN147A0 (2024) to think it is a DN163A0 through DecoderPro. ?I tried and the result is with any change in throttle setting the loco will jump forwards suddenly and then resume the speed you set it at.?
The loco will also make sudden jumps if it momentarily has a loss of track power ........ even the slightest loss of power which isn't noticeable normally.
?
All I tried to change was the loco number.
?
I have not got DN147A0 (2024) definition in DecoderPro 4.26 or on 5.6 which our clubs programming computer has. ?I don't know if newer versions of DecoderPro have DN147A0's (2024) in the decoder list. If not we may have to wait until a few test versions of DecoderPro get sorted out.
?
The reset function does not correct the DN147A0 (2024). I guess "reset" cannot correct something it does not recognise.

The speed issue is actually something I see with the decoder before even changing the address or reading it into the roster. The forward light is very dim in reverse, when it should be ¡°off¡±. It does not exhibit this behavior in forward (ie. front headlight on, rear headlight is off as expected). I¡¯ve seen this behavior on two other brand new DN147A0 boards. I¡¯ve eliminated the possibility of short with motor leads on the frame halves with capton tape. With three boards in a row this is somewhat leading me to believe this is either hardware or software problem with the decoder itself, but wanted to verify all the CV settings and maybe turn off features like BEMF to test.

?

Appreciate the help,

Tim

This headlight behavior might be part of how Digitrax transponding works. Perhaps there¡¯s a way to turn transponding off in the decoder if you¡¯re not using it?

Thanks Bob, was thinking it might have been related to BEMF and didn¡¯t consider the transponding, will give it a shot later today.

Bob, this worked! Still have to fine tune the motor but this gets one annoying thing off the list.

Thanks,
Tim
