DecoderPro no loco roster
#roster
I don't know were to begin with my question. But here goes.?
I have been using decoder pro and operations pro for five years with great results. I do the normal up dates when needed and have never had an issue.?
?
Today I started decoder pro and my loco roster did not come up. The program went to starting a new roster page. My roster list is still in my operations pro window. What could I have done to have eliminate decoder pro loco roster? Any help would be appreciated. It is not the end of the world but it sure would be nice to know what I did to keep from ever doing it again.

You need to recreate the roster index.
In PanelPro, click on Debug in the top menu followed by 'Rebuild Roster' or in DecoderPro, click on Actions in top menu followed by 'recreate Roster Index'. -- Peter Ulvestad Linux Mint 22.1, JMRI 5.11.4plus, Java 21.0.6 JMRI Users Group Moderator ( /g/jmriusers ) JMRI Developers Group Moderator ( ) Tam Valley Group Moderator ( ) Sprog-DCC Group Moderator ( ) Edmonton Model Railroad Association ( ) |
Peter,
I did exactly what you called out for in Decoder Pro and I got back my roster. Thanks so much. Now my Operations Pro has lost my railroad and it was removed from the main menu. Any advice on how to get it back now. I was there until I fixed the decoder pro roster.?

I am lost as to why I cannot access my railroad in operation pro. I have been using the switch list almost every day to operate sine 2022. Evrything was fine tuned to fit the railroad. And yesterday after fixing the loco roster in decoder pro the railroad name is showing active without the information of the railroad.?
Do I give up and find another way of creating switch list to operate my railroad??

I am having a similar problem.? I've run decoder pro for many years and have a roster of over 100 engines.? Yesterday, I was using it and everything was working fine.? I then shut it down and about a 1/2 hour later restarted it and low an behold no roster.? If I look on my server I can see the directory and all of my engine files but I've tried rebuild roster and it didn't work.? Can someone walk me thru the steps to recover my roster?

OK,
This is what I have done today. I have windows 10 and my computer is set for automatic updates. I don't really use this laptop for anything else but JMRI and because of JMRI updates it is on the Wi-Fi internet. So today I decided to restore the computer. When I went into the system restore, I was thinking of going back several weeks hoping that I would get to where there were no issues. To my Suprise the restore went back to the 9th, the day all these issues started. The message said that Microsoft updated a system program on that day, and it automatically created a restore point before the update. I did not realize there was an update done. After restoring the system to that date all my JMRI issues were gone. My roster is back in Decoder Pro and everything in Operations Pro is back.?
?
So. this whole event of problems stemmed from windows updating not JMRI or me.?

I am sorry to see that I am? not alone with this update issue on Win 10.? I have finished restoring my computer and was surprised to find in the process that JMRI files had been scattered all over my harddrive and the many files?that were duplicated. If you get an update warning with Windows 10, close all JMRI programs and turn off computer? until after the update?occurs. I will report after next Win 10 update if any problems.
