CTC - GUI issue with list width on form for "Edit Signal Direction Indicators" and form for "Edit Indication Locking"
#ctc-tool
I'm just starting to look into the CTC system. It seems like it's quite an impressive feature!
However, I seem to have found a little showstopper. JMRI 5.4 under Windows 10 and Java 11. The??"Edit Signal Direction Indicators" dialog has two signal lists. The problem is that if you have slightly long Signal Mast names, you can only see the first part of the name in the right-hand list. If you resize the dialog box, it keeps making the left-hand box wider, but the right-hand box never gets wide enough to see the entire name, and it's therefore impossible to select the correct signal! See Photo Albums: John B. SIDI resizing issue for a screenshot. I would suggest that when the dialog is resized, both lists should have equal widths. The?"Edit Indication Locking"? has a single list and is also a fixed width and too narrow. I would suggest that the list should be resized as the dialog is resized. I¡¯ve started a tracker for this at
I¡¯m not familiar with the CTC tools. Is there a simple set of steps that will get you to this display? Would you mind uploading your layout XML file so we can try to recreate it? Thanks! Bob On Dec 9, 2023, at 7:04?PM, John Baldwin via groups.io <jbnx42@...> wrote:¡ª Bob Jacobsen rgj1927@... |

You can use the test file at java/test/jmri/jmrit/ctc/configurexml/load/CTC_Test_Masts-SML.xml. Open the editor using "Tools => CTC => Open CTC Configuration Editor". Select the first row and then the Edit buttons for "Signal direction indicators" and "Indication locking". Expand the resulting windows to the right. The last, or only, scroll panel does not expand. Thank you! That¡¯s exactly what I was looking for.
I think I see how to fix this in the relevant .java files. But there¡¯s a question as to whether that¡¯s the right way to fix it. Could you check ? Thank you. Bob On Dec 10, 2023, at 10:31?AM, Dave Sand <ds@...> wrote:¡ª Bob Jacobsen rgj1927@... |
