Announcing version 3.00 of Model Railroad Switch List And Manifest Formatter #MRSLAMFormatter #operationspro

I¡¯m pleased to announce that version 3.00 of Model Railroad Switch List And Manifest Formatter is now available for download from the website. New in this version of MR SLAM Formatter is the ability to automatically resize data fields to fit within the printable area of the column and/or page, and then to line wrap the text, as necessary, to fit within the borders.

?

If you use JMRI Operations Pro to create manifests and switch lists for your model railroad empire, then you should check out MR SLAM Formatter. It is a companion program to Operations Pro and provides unparalleled capabilities to format your manifests and switch lists. The program is free, easy to use, and, like JMRI, runs under Java. ??

Please watch this that demonstrates this new program feature.? [ If you are leery of clicking on links, go to YouTube and search form "mrslamf" to find the video.]?

?

Then visit the to download the program -?.? ?The website contains numerous example documents and there are several videos available that demonstrate various features of the program. The program also comes with a complete user¡¯s manual that describes all of the program¡¯s features.? MR SLAM Formatter has been downloaded hundreds of times by users around the globe. Give it a try.

Thank you for writing this.? It's a useful program.? I have done some testing and have found the following issues when checking the "Auto fit field text" checkbox.? I have the page size set to Letter and page Orientation set to Portrait.
?
1. For some reason the width of the manifest does not take up the width of the page.? As a result, the destination track wraps to the second line, even though there is lots of room on the right-hand side.? This even happens when printing in landscape.? Perhaps I am missing a setting.? Example in the screenshot is "Cargill Grain".??
?
2. The "Set Out Car Data Layout" line is set to red, but it still prints in black.?
?
Suggestions for future enhancements:
?
1. It would be nice if we could select any field that is available in JMRI.? I currently display "Division" on my manifest but don't have that option here.
2. When selecting a manifest to process, the default should be the "details" view, and the list should be sorted by most recent manifest at the top.?
?
Please let me know if you need any more information.

Something else I was thinking about is that you are maybe reinventing the wheel a bit by keeping your own database (so it appears) of field selections, rather than just using what JMRI already has.??
