Locked Atlas snap switches not working with DR4018 and JMRI but work fine with MCR controller

I installed a DR4018 from Digikeijs on my layout to control my existing snap switch on my new dcc layout. I was very happy when it worked first time using my MCR Prodigy Advanced. But it does work using JMRI eith direct turnout from menu or from layout editor. Any help?

Thanks
Fred E

Can you operate the snap switches with your throttle?
Did you check you power supply voltage?

I use the DR4018 using the atlas snap switches and work well with JMRI.?

Which version of JMRI are you using?
If you go into your preferences and the Defaults tab are they set for internal or your command station?
How are the turnouts defined in the turnout table?

I upgraded to latest version of JMRI tonight and connected my laptop to track using SPRG3. When ever I tried to change a snap switch, the locomotives on track restarted. It was like a short.

I¡¯m now thinking that a need separate power supply just for the DR4018 to use with my computer and JMRC.

I¡¯ve asked Iron Mountain Hobbies where I bought the unit about this.

Thanks for you feedback.

Fred

Reading the Instruction sheet for it, Digokrejs recommend a 3A Power supply. If you're using the DCC Bus to power it, you might be overloading the Prodigy which only has a 3.5A input which means that some power is taken to run the Prodigy, and any other devices locos etc also will be taking power from the bus.So a separate power supply is advisable.

I think you might be right about power even though it works on the Prodigy. It¡¯s on the SPROG3 were I have problem. I¡¯m going to get addon power supply.

Thanks. Fred

My Atlas switches do not work with JMRI in panel pro or script. They work fine with my MRC advance. I emailed digitreijs and support indicated a fix was send to JMRI developers but not yet implemented.

Are you using non default settings on your turnout table? Thanks. Fred

Peter,

I¡¯m using latest production version.
Sprog3 Command Station.
Turnouts setup with defaults.
Dr4018 connected to dedicated power supple from same company.

Digikeijs support indicates fix has been supplies to JMRI group but wouldn¡¯t supply me with who.

Can you help?

Thanks. Fred

Update. I found information on the sprog group that helped. Setup turnouts as no feedback and try times to 2. On panel pro this will cause the Atlas switch to act individually but not it¡¯s partner. I removed the joins on the each pair of switches for changing from one track to adjoining track. I now have to click each one but that¡¯s better than nothing. Thanks to all.
