Locked SCRIPTS...How to change them on a IMac computer

I am converting from a PC (Windows 10) to a new IMac computer. ?I have everything running now as I want with the exception of scripts. ?I need to change a script. ?I have changed a script (example new train number) using the PC but I want to learn how to change a script on the IMac computer.

Question: ?How do you revise a script on an IMac computer and save it as py (assuming that is correct) on the IMac. computer?

For small changes, you can use TextEdit.
