Has anyone ever tried JMRI on a RasPi running Win 10?????

RaspBerry PI runs LINUX, not Windows OS.

There is a prepackaged image of JMRI from the author of Engine Driver SW for the PI.

The I have a raspberry pi with windows 10 installed, but windows 10 for the Raspberry Pi is the IoT edition. This means the options for installing software on the device are limited, at best.

The biggest issue is that you can't run Java on Windows 10 IoT. Without Java, we can't run JMRI.

Hi All, go to stevetodd. com he has RPI image that you can download and install on the RPI and connect to several DCC system as well as Windows computers.
You may have to download other software to make it work.

The IoT version of windows is so restricted that it's about useless......I don't even consider it as ageneral purpose Operating System.

Yes I know about connecting etc etc etc. I wanted to run Win on Pi to have only the one little computer doing two things on the workbench. I have all Macs. And tho JMRI will run on a Mac the other program will not as it requires .NET. I still have to try the other program on Pi, I am waiting on USPS and George Washington. As I told Paul, O Well TCC:}
