Locked Exporting files from JMRI
It depends what you want from your roster export. There is a Jython script in the Sample Scripts to export as a CSV file for import to Excel, but it is not feasible to export all CVs in Excel format.

If you have an individual Roster Entry open, there are Export and Import options for CVs in various formats. -- Dave in Australia On 23/12/2014, at 4:59 AM, "wlg@... [jmriusers]" <jmriusers@...> wrote:
How can you export the roster in a useable fiormat such as Xcel? I've copied and pasted the available files but it's not as usable as I would like. |

Wally,
If you want simple stuff like that, there is a script for that. The issue is that will give lots of extra stuff. But if you then take that file into Excel (or equal) and cut all the columns past the fields you want. The script is "RosterCsvExport.py" and is with all the normal Jython scripts. -Ken Cameron, Member JMRI Dev Team www.jmri.org www.fingerlakeslivesteamers.org www.cnymod.com www.syracusemodelrr.org |
I tried running this script, it creates a file descriptor in Windows 7 but if you attempt to open it you get a message that the file is locked for editing.?? Bypassing this message and forcing open the file shows the file to be empty.
Looking at the file details in Explorer shows a size of 0 kb JMRI 4.4 running on Windows 7 64 bit SP1 fully patched. |
