Cannot start to read decoders

Hi, I am running DecoderPro since many years without any Problem. I recently got another Laptop with win11Pro preinstalled - Version 24H2. After installation DecoderPro ask me to get started by checking in with a new Loco placed on the programming track. It comes back with the correct decoder and I store it in the Roster.
?
When I exit and restart DecoderPro I click NEW+ to get a new Loco and decoder? recognized, but the field at the bottom left ( Read decoder type) is greyed out.?
After deinstallation i even deleted all remnants from JMRI and even cleaned the registry as far as I could.
?
I reinstalled? - did no new Lokomotive, but tried to import a complete Lokpark/Roster from my second laptop - all 104 locos appeared correctly, but I cannot add a new locomotive/decoder because? in the new locomotive Window the button at the bottom left (read decoder Type) is still greyd out. And no - I am not Read only....
?
I red several JMRI topics, I tried to rebuild the coplete Lokpar/Roster (which did nothing) and so I am stuck.
?
I am working with DR5000/Yamorc YD7001 and Z21, I can work with the Throttle without any Problem, so the connection to my centralStation is ok (over WIFI by the way)
?
I am currently on 5.10.4 Release but tried also the? 5.11.4 TestRelease with same result.
Can I ask to help me ?

Erik, I suspect we'll hear from others on this, but I noticed what I believe is the same behavior on my system, and perhaps it was a change made during a recent update.? When you open your Roster, click on any entry and you'll see that the buttons at the bottom right will transition from "greyed out" to "active."? It was a head-scratcher for me until I found the solution, and I recall restarting JMRI several times before I discovered it.? HTH!

sorry but this did not work. I reinstalled several times, used English an my on German? language. Interestingly, it works for me for one or two or there entries, but then ist stops working. In the very last line (status line?) of the create new loco Window it comes up with normal messages, i.e. reading cv xyz etc., but then it displays (not every time) "pause..." instead of idle and the "Read Type" field and the "Open Comprehensive ..." fields are grey out.
There is also a simple programmer which has the READ CV field greyed out, the Write CV field is avtive.
I can control a loco with the throttle tough ! It is not version dependant, as I use same versions on both PCs - I assume it is dependant on Windows, I use 21H2 and 24H2 - on the former it works on the latter it does not. It seems to me something is locking itself out inside the JMRI.

Erik, Someone might be able to look at this properly if you post the log-file for a session where you can't read a decoder. Meanwhile, it's best to stop re-installing things. .started completely from scratch. Deleted all remnants from previous installs.
.Installed java 17 as suggested in windows installation
.installed jmri - no problem so far.
.Before using DecoderPro I verified connection with the central unit and programming track with loko placed on it
.Started up DecoderPro with empty roster/lokpark- clicked on New loko
.New loko window came up (it is rather small if that is of any significance - see later)
.Klicked read decoder type
.came back with list of decoders (where 4 zimo decoder)
. selected correct decoder (highlight took some seconds!)
. Then entered the id name on the right side - took another 2-4 seconds until decoder address was read and displayed
.Saved the loko to the roster / lokpark
.Status line: Pause
.Exited new lok window - clicked on "Identify"
.correct entry in the Roster (there is just one) is highlighted.
.Klicked exit and save!
.Restarted DecoderPro and klicked new loko
. This time a almost double wide New loko window came up
."Read decoder type" grayed out as well as "open detailed programmer" !
.Staus line: Pause
.Klicked exit and save the log files
Notes:
1) This is windows 11 24H2 all updates applied, iTrain, Central sation Mgmgt software, Anyrail all are working ok.
2) I tried English language as well as my own German - no difference
3) I have tried with the JMRI 5.11.4 test release as well as the current release
4) I have the same JMRI installation runing on another laptop? - Windows Version? is Windwos 11 22H2
