DS 74 Base Address and BXP88 Roster entry #digitrax

 

I am in the process of installing DS 74¡¯s into my layout. I would like to know if there are any updates to the JMRI software that allows the base address of the DS 74 to be changed.

I am also installing BXP 88 into my layout. My current version of JMRI
software 5.8 does not have this device in its roster. I see there¡¯s a new
production release 5.9. Does this version have the BXP 88 in its roster?

As of v5.11.2 both the DS74 and the BXP 88 are not supported yet?by JMRI that I could find.

There¡¯s no decoder definition for the BXP88 now. Were I to create one, would you be willing to do some testing of it? I don¡¯t have a BXP88 to do the testing myself.

On my previous layout I bought 24 BXP88 for train detection, they worked at first and later we couldn¡¯t detect when we had a problem or not. I had an expert for train controls and he also couldn¡¯t detect the problems. I still have them and I¡¯m ready to build a new layout in ?new home, so I¡¯m undecided whether to use Digitrax or to use NCE.

If you are happy to write a decoder definition for the BXP88, I'm very happy to do some testing of it.? I have a simple three detection sections test rig which I'm guessing will be adequate for this.
